Mental generals were always a worry to me during college days. But thanks to the “WHY” which made many things easy. Mental symptoms are not mere collection of emotional symptoms but also the observation of the expressions of patients.

Hahnemann’s “sick man” described in detailed by Dr Kent need no introduction. We all know it is the vital energy or the living force inside every living being which gets deranged first to start for a disease. Thus the mental generals are of top importance. But only mental symptoms will not erect the totality as Hahnemann told in apho 6. A complete set of physical, mental, disease state particular and if possible PQRS will lead to a perfect similimum.

In years of practice I have learned that it is we who are wrong and not the technique. We are lacking in understanding thus gets failures.

EMOTIONS –

To know thoroughly (Mental confusion, delirium, hallucination, delirium)

INTELLECT  –
Thinking power of mind (concentration, dullness; calculations)

MEMORY –
The power to remember.

Every person has his individual reaction to the incident happening. If that person is sensitive enough to get emotionally charged which can derange a vital energy flow become important. These are the parameters which one can try to find in patient, emotional sensitivity like grief, criticism, lack of appreciation, rudeness, dominance etc. These are the factors to which a specific constitution can be sensitive. Thus the reaction to this sensitivity becomes very important.

This factor is very much commonly seen where the miasm has been changed. Thus it is responsible for conversion of miasm to make the condition worse of change the seat of the disease. It is mostly seen that the reaction and sensitivity or ailments comes nearby while your analysis. Ones the miasm is fully bloomed then these ailments from factors are of no use in reportorial analysis. Though, we can consider it for confirmation.
